SUSTAINING CAMPAIGN
As a not-for-profit
agency, Family Counseling Service of Northern NY relies on
the generosity of the community to keep its counseling
services affordable and accessible. Over the past year,
contributions from individuals and businesses have allowed
us to:
- revise our sliding fee scale to
include lower fees for counseling sessions
- supplement our
client assistance fund for those requiring additional
support
- hire an additional staff counselor
- create a new
position, Clinical Director, to provide counseling and
develop new
programs
- open a satellite office in Lowville
The coming year
offers new challenges and opportunities for Family
Counseling Service. We plan to expand our core services in
Jefferson County and to reach out to clients in Lewis and
St. Lawrence counties. However, the cost of providing
services exceeds what we collect in fees by approximately
$24,000 per year. That is why we are asking the community to
support us once again, with a contribution to this year's

program, and also participates in BonTon's Community Cares program.
Snowflake Rally
Our annual Snowflake Rally is a cardboard sled event -
open to all - that encourages creativity rather than speed. Prizes are awarded
for team spirit, best theme, most bizarre, most colorful, most creative, and
most humorous, with a traveling trophy for business entries. Sleds may be
constructed with cardboard, paper, duct tape, string and glue only.
